To apply under the FSWC, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Work Experience: Minimum 12 months of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in a NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B occupation.
Language Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 or higher. Test results must be from an approved language test taken within the last two years.
Education: Hold a Canadian secondary school diploma or an equivalent foreign credential validated by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated agency.
Points Score: Achieve at least 67 out of 100 on the FSWP points grid, which evaluates:
Education (up to 25 points)
Language proficiency (up to 28 points)
Age (up to 12 points)
Work experience (up to 15 points)
Arranged employment (up to 10 points)
Adaptability (up to 10 points)
Settlement Funds: Possess sufficient funds to support yourself and any accompanying family members in Canada. Required amounts vary by family size:
Single applicant: 14,690 CAD
Family of two: 18,288 CAD
Family of three: 22,483 CAD
Family of four: 27,297 CAD
Family of five: 30,690 CAD
Family of six: 34,917 CAD
Family of seven: 38,875 CAD
Add 3,958 CAD for each additional family member
