To apply under the FSWC, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Work Experience: Minimum 12 months of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in a NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B occupation.

• Language Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 or higher. Test results must be from an approved language test taken within the last two years.

• Education: Hold a Canadian secondary school diploma or an equivalent foreign credential validated by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated agency.

• Points Score: Achieve at least 67 out of 100 on the FSWP points grid, which evaluates:

  • Education (up to 25 points)

  • Language proficiency (up to 28 points)

  • Age (up to 12 points)

  • Work experience (up to 15 points)

  • Arranged employment (up to 10 points)

  • Adaptability (up to 10 points)

• Settlement Funds: Possess sufficient funds to support yourself and any accompanying family members in Canada. Required amounts vary by family size:

  • Single applicant: 14,690 CAD

  • Family of two: 18,288 CAD

  • Family of three: 22,483 CAD

  • Family of four: 27,297 CAD

  • Family of five: 30,690 CAD

  • Family of six: 34,917 CAD

  • Family of seven: 38,875 CAD

  • Add 3,958 CAD for each additional family member
